You might not know this, but most jewellers store their silver jewellery stock in airtight sealable plastic bags. This is foolproof way of protecting them from tarnishing.
Your silver items should be stored separately and kept away from the air as much as possible. One idea is to store each necklace chain by itself in a small zip-top plastic bag. Squeeze out as much air as you can before sealing. If the necklace has stones, use a soft velvet pouch instead.
